Reflecting on CIVRO’s Entry into Vietnam
Since 2018, CIVRO targeted the rapidly rising Vietnamese market with a global perspective. Backed by its R&D and procurement center in Germany, embodying rigorous German technical DNA and engineering standards, the CIVRO team introduced high-performance solutions from Europe. In 2018, they conducted in-depth research on Vietnam’s tropical climate, urbanization pace, and local aesthetics; leveraging technical support and premium procurement guidelines from Germany as a foundation, then tailoring to local requirements. At that time, Vietnam was still exploring high-spec window and door systems, and with German-engineered quality control and international project experience, CIVRO quickly initiated pilot collaborations with local partners.
In those early projects, CIVRO combined technical schemes from its German R&D center with corrosion and wind-resistance requirements for Vietnam’s high-humidity coastal zones; merged German precision design principles with sound insulation and thermal performance needs in central mountainous cities; and in northern monsoon regions conducted rigorous testing to ensure wind and rain resistance. The team traveled between Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang, engaging deeply with local designers and engineering teams, repeatedly validating the fit between German standards and local realities. This blend of international foundation and localized drive enabled CIVRO to establish a trustworthy reputation from the outset.
CIVRO’s Influence and Achievements in Vietnam
As collaborations deepened, CIVRO’s German technical DNA increasingly permeated the Vietnamese architectural community’s awareness. Numerous showcase projects were realized—luxury residences, boutique hotels, and high-end mixed-use complexes—adopting energy-efficient glass systems, precision sealing structures, and intelligent integration solutions originating from the German R&D center. The success of these projects elevated Vietnamese architects’, developers’, and owners’ understanding of international-standard, high-quality window and door systems.
In training and technology promotion, CIVRO leveraged expert resources from its R&D center to hold online and offline seminars and workshops: inviting R&D teams via remote connections to share R&D concepts for new insulating materials, precision manufacturing processes, and quality control methods; concurrently working with local installation teams in hands-on sessions to conduct installations and performance tests aligned with international standards. This “International R&D – local practice” integrated training model significantly enhanced the expertise of local technical teams and reinforced CIVRO’s leading position in Vietnam.
In branding efforts in Vietnam, CIVRO emphasized its German technical DNA and international case studies, showcasing international laboratory test reports and comparative examples from global projects via social media and industry media, further gaining market recognition.
Product Series Development for Local Needs
To more precisely meet Vietnamese market demands and consumption habits, CIVRO specially developed and launched a full N series of non-thermal-break insulation systems for the Vietnam market during 2019–2020, covering doors, windows, sliding solutions, etc. This aimed to satisfy the local clients’ initial appetite for high-quality fenestration with more approachable costs and solid performance. At that time, acceptance of high-end thermal-break systems in Vietnam was still growing; the N series, with its favorable cost-performance ratio and ease of installation, was quickly adopted in several residential and small commercial projects, laying a solid foundation for CIVRO in the local market.
As demand for high-end fenestration in Vietnam grew, CIVRO, after continuously monitoring market feedback and technological advancements, developed in 2022 a second-generation non-thermal-break insulation system called the N_E series. This series optimized material selection, sealing performance, and structural design, achieving performance comparable to some common thermal-break products in the Vietnamese market, offering a higher-end non-thermal-break option for clients balancing budget and performance. The launch of the N_E series enriched CIVRO’s product lineup in Vietnam, forming:
High-performance thermal-break insulation systems (top-tier solutions from the German R&D center, targeting projects demanding ultimate energy efficiency and comfort)
High-performance non-thermal-break insulation systems (N_E series) (optimized performance comparable to certain thermal-break products, suitable for high-end market segments balancing budget and requirements)
High-quality non-thermal-break insulation systems (N series) (more cost-effective and easier to install, catering to a broader range of applications)
With this complete series, CIVRO can offer more flexible solutions tailored to different client groups and project positions in Vietnam, further solidifying its competitiveness and influence in the local market.
Entering a New Phase
By 2024–2025, CIVRO’s presence in Vietnam entered a new development phase, with its international layout and German technical DNA playing an even greater role. The localized product lineup (including the N series, N_E series, and high-performance thermal-break products) supported by the international R&D center enabled the team to swiftly respond to diverse project demands: from cost-effective quality applications to high-end energy-saving showcases, matching each project with the right solution. The IAF Global Forum Vietnam edition and system launch in Ho Chi Minh City in June 2025 not only showcased existing projects but also demonstrated innovative prototypes co-developed by the R&D and local teams.
In service and experience, CIVRO further established localized experience centers showcasing the full range of system solutions co-developed under international technical guidance and local R&D, including performance comparisons of N series, N_E series, and thermal-break systems under real Vietnamese conditions, allowing clients to directly experience the differences and advantages of each series in energy saving, comfort, and maintenance. Meanwhile, local technical support teams received continuous remote guidance from CIVRO global experts, forming a rapid-response mechanism that elevated project execution and after-sales service quality.
Future Outlook
Looking ahead, CIVRO will continue using its international R&D and procurement center as core support, integrating Vietnamese and Southeast Asian market characteristics to deepen its international layout and technological innovation. In the short term, based on the latest German R&D outcomes and Vietnamese market feedback, CIVRO will iteratively optimize the N series and N_E series: for example, introducing more efficient non-thermal-break insulation materials, next-generation sealing structures, and intelligent accessories, offering mid- to high-end market clients an enhanced experience; at the same time, continuously launching higher-performance thermal-break insulation systems to serve top-tier energy-saving or high-comfort projects. Through a joint German-Vietnam laboratory, CIVRO will conduct long-term performance monitoring of the N and N_E series in real-world conditions, providing data support for ongoing optimization.
In the medium term, CIVRO may leverage Vietnam as a regional hub to radiate into neighboring markets: establishing a regional R&D testing base locally, combining the R&D strengths, the localized product lines (including N, N_E, and thermal-break series), and practical experience to rapidly iterate solutions tailored to various countries’ climates and regulations, continuously cultivating local Vietnamese talent, hosting international seminars, and executing cross-border joint projects to further solidify technological influence.
In the long term, rooted in German technical DNA, CIVRO will continue piloting cutting-edge technologies in Vietnam: leveraging practical experience from the N/N_E series and thermal-break systems to form replicable models for regional markets. Deep experience from the Vietnamese market (including performance data and customer feedback across different product series) will continuously feed back into the R&D center, fostering more globally adaptable innovations; the R&D technical accumulation will also accelerate CIVRO’s responsiveness to new demands in Vietnam and beyond. In the future, CIVRO will not only be a system window and door brand with German engineering DNA and international vision but also a leader in technology and services for the Southeast Asian market, jointly driving a new era of sustainable and intelligent architecture through localized product innovation and international R&D strength.
Looking back on the journey since entering Vietnam in 2018 with German technical DNA, and the localized product innovations such as the N series in 2019–2020 and the N_E series in 2022, CIVRO has continuously built trust and influence through its international vision, robust support from the German R&D and procurement center, and in-depth local practices. Now entering a new phase, CIVRO in Vietnam possesses a more comprehensive product matrix, richer project experience, and cutting-edge technological capabilities, laying a solid foundation for deeper and wider regional expansion. With passion and creativity, CIVRO will join hands with partners in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, combining German standards with localized innovation, to embrace an even brighter future for the construction industry
