The annual Guangzhou Design Week has wrapped up once again, leaving behind a trail of ideas, conversations and innovations. This year’s event, held from 5–8 December, was especially memorable for the many technology-curious visitors who stopped by the 2 distinctive exhibition spaces created by CIVRO. Whether you are a young learner eager to understand new technologies or a seasoned designer keeping up with the latest trends, the event offered plenty to explore.

A Dual-Booth Journey Across Two Venues

One of the biggest highlights this year was CIVRO’s dual-booth setup, which allowed visitors to experience two very different design worlds.

These products were displayed in a booth designed by the renowned Vietnamese architect Dr Võ Trọng Nghĩa, whose work is world-famous for merging architecture with nature. Inspired by a “bamboo forest”, the PWTC booth allowed visitors to see how modern doors and windows can echo the rhythms of the natural world.

Many visitors found this especially fascinating because it showed that technology doesn't have to be cold or mechanical. It can blend beautifully with the environment - a valuable idea for anyone interested in sustainable design or green innovation.

1. A Technology-Focused Showcase at PWTC

At the PWTC venue, CIVRO presented its latest advancements in window and door technologies. Many visitors were particularly drawn to the clean, modern, and highly functional product line, including:

PD65SS electric sliding system, designed for a seamless and automated sliding experience.

PW80 Slender Frames, featuring both inward- and outward-opening windows paired with an integrated flyscreen module.

XW85_BC new-profile window, which brings a refreshed look crafted for both aesthetics and performance.

2. An Outdoor Courtyard Experience at HICEC

Over at HICEC, the mood shifted from forest-themed minimalism to a more open and expansive outdoor setting. CIVRO collaborated with SHIKOKU, a leading national materials enterprise, to create a courtyard exhibition centred on high-quality outdoor living systems.

This booth focused on how modern households can extend their living spaces into gardens, terraces or courtyards. The systems on display were built to be durable, elegant and adaptable — ideal for anyone who dreams of creating comfortable outdoor environments.

For younger learners or new architecture enthusiasts, this booth offered an accessible look at how materials, technology and lifestyle design come together.

Ideal Architecture Festival: A Night to Remember

Another standout moment took place on the evening of 5 December, when CIVRO and Guangzhou Design Week co-hosted the Ideal Architecture Festival (IAF) at the Baiyun Design Capital in Guangzhou.

With more than 300 designers, architects and industry leaders attending, the event created a dynamic space for sharing ideas and celebrating innovation in both built and unbuilt design concepts. Notably, this year’s festival also earned recognition from local government officials — a milestone that reflects IAF’s growing influence.

The discussions, exhibits and exchanges offered students and emerging designers an opportunity to see how global professionals communicate ideas, evaluate design outcomes and push the boundaries of creativity.

Looking Ahead: See You Next December

As the event came to a close, CIVRO extended an invitation for next year’s Guangzhou Design Week, scheduled for 4–7 December. The theme for the future remains hopeful and forward-looking, with a promise to continue building a sense of “Happiness” through design, innovation and meaningful architectural experiences.

Whether you’re exploring new technologies, studying design, or simply curious about where modern architecture is heading, Guangzhou Design Week 2025 will definitely be a space worth visiting.
