AAMA & IFO: Entering the North American Market

AAMA standards (now part of FGIA) are the definitive performance indicators for the North American fenestration industry. Through testing at IFO (Institut für Oberflächentechnik), our products are evaluated for material integrity and performance grades (PG), ensuring they meet the high expectations of the US and Canadian architectural markets.

What is AAMA (Tested by IFO)?

The AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) standards - now governed by the FGIA - are the gold standard for North American building envelopes. They categorize products by Performance Grade (PG). IFO (Institut für Oberflächentechnik) is a German-based, accredited laboratory that is authorized to perform AAMA-standard testing for international brands.

Why does CIVRO conduct this testing?

With our expansion into the North American market, AAMA certification is essential. By testing with IFO, CIVRO proves that our aluminum systems meet the stringent "North American" performance grades required for US and Canadian building permits. This certification is a key pillar of our presence at major events like the AIA Conference on Architecture, positioning CIVRO as a viable, high-performance alternative for US-based architects.
